Social Networking

Peace all. We meet again in this blog. At this time, we, Kamikaze will take you to explore or learn about one of the most popular mode of communication today, social networkingBefore that, i will explain what is communication.
Communication is the most popular Internet activity, and its impact cannot be overestimated. At a personal level, friends and family can stay in contact with one another even when seperated by thousands of miles. At a business level, electronic communication has become a standard, and many times preferred, way to stay in touch with suppliers, employees, and customers.
Communication is very important in the world today. Without communication we will miss important information.
OK. Now I will explain what is social networking.
One of the fastest-growing uses of the Internet is social networking, or connecting individuals to one another. Three basic categories of social networking sites are :
  • Reuniting sites
Designed to connect people who have known one another but have lost touch, for example, an old high school friend that you have not seen for several years. You join a social network by connecting to a reuniting site and providing profile information such as your age, gender, name of high school and so forth. With this information, members are able to search you.
  • Friend-of-a-friend sites
Designed to bring together two people who do not know one another but share common friend. The theory is that, if you share a common friend, then it is likely that you would become friends.
  • Common interest sites
Bring together individuals that share common interest or hobbies. You select a networking site based on particular interest.

Below is a list of social networking. The list is not exhaustive.

review chapter

hello,guys..(0.0)..we meet again..though i'm not that expert in IT,but i know that is my responsible in learning it..well,i'm not going to learn it alone..because i'll share it with all..so,everyone will be clever just like me.. :p..straight to the point,i will continue what i've learn in my favourite class.
HARDWARE
the equipment that process data to create information.
(not only computer considered as hardware.keyboard,mouse,monitor,etc. also consider as hardware)

about 4 types of computers
  1. supercomputers:most powerful and high-capacity computer used by very large companies
  2. mainframe computers:not very powerful but have great processing speeds and data storage
  3. minicomputers:used by medium-sized companies for specific purpose
  4. microcomputers:most widely used.eg: desktop,notebook,tablet PC,handheld computers
4 basic categories of microcomputers hardware:
system unit
input/output device
secondary storage
communication

enough with hardware..let we proceed to 'data' which is also 1 part of information system..why we have to know about it? (^.^)..to burden our mind,i guess..???...just kidding
DATA
raw and unprocessed facts which include text, numbers, images and sounds.once the data processed, it will become information.when save in files, this data can be used directly as input for system unit.probably everyone will recognize all of these files..
  • document
  • worksheet
  • database
  • presentation

Technology & Information Systems

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY,
THE INTERNET & YOU

Chapter 1

  •  Information technology (IT) is "the acquisition, processing, storage and dissemination of vocal, pictorial, textual and numerical information by a microelectronics-based combination of computing and telecommunications".

  • An information system (IS) is any combination of information technology and people's activities using that technology to support operations, management, and decision-making. In a very broad sense, the term information system is frequently used to refer to the interaction between people, algorithmic, processes, data and technology.
